Last night’s DJing went great at the launch for the new CODA nightclub. Playing to a very mixed and different crowd but lots of people seemed to enjoy the various things I played. Won over some new fans too from what the bar manager said ![]()
Here’s my one hour set.
Started with dancey big beat, moved into EBM, then onto Industrial Rock, Indie, Alt, 80’s, then back to Industrial rock and finished with THE DARKSIDE which is always a good one. Sad I couldn’t squeeze in more but think I gave a great ‘taster’ of what my clubnights Dark-Cide and Electro-Cide are all about.
Also got the chance to show of my new posters for the club that I designed yesterday. It’s a composite of my mate Emily (shot in her house), Preston Bus Station that I took in the pouring rain the nigh after (for the ‘Industrial-ness’ – and that it’s right outside the club), and a lovely istockphoto moon and clouds picture.

Really like how it works. I’m using this for my 5000 flyers I’m having printed up next, and with a9th.dimension.co.uk advert on the back as part of the site’s launch strategy. When I was doing some mockups of the flyer I came across some interesting bits about the Bus Station. It’s of a short-lived architectural school called Brutalism – which I think is pretty apt for it, and also again resonated with the harsh industrial aspect of some of the music I spin at the club ![]()
Just installed the javascipt on the www.dark-cide.com/gallery.html to begin work on getting that all populated. Contacting some of the many excellent photographers who’d taken pics last year to ask if they’d like some of their work included.
